When you go to the grocery store, look for the freshest seafood and then plan your dinner. IF you’ve already planned your menu, tweak it because fresh and on-sale stuff sometimes are rare to come by
None frozen food of course. Then next you gotta check the eyes of the fish…make sure they sparkle. If they have developed cataracts, don’t get it! As for shrimps, if you can get non frozen, look if they are glistening. If you can touch em, feel for elasticity. As for clams, make sure they are nicely submerged in ice and CLAM SHUT! 😉 as for crabs or lobster, make sure they are ready to give a fight when you poke em with something other than your finger ;-P
Does it help? Do you wanna go grocery shopping with me? Super H is just a couple minutes drive from your house lah. Been to that korean store yet?
Super H? You mean H Mart? I go there all the time! I thought frozen fish was safer sometimes because it kills parasites :P, and isn’t most G-store fish frozen before, and just thawed when put on display? Does H Mart import fish and produce from Japan? I’m afraid to go there right now…
Pei chi–any tips on identifying the freshest seafood??

Thanks for all those tips! Sure lets go!
Yes H mart. I still buy them fresh on display. They are safe, not from japan. And you don’t have to quit sushi ;-P
